Child and Parent Council (CHAPCO)

The Child and Parent Council’s overall goals are to heighten community awareness and promote broad base community support for positive parenting.  We do this by providing educational programs and helpful written information that we distribute through faith based organizations, local publications, and public entities such as libraries, doctor’s offices, schools, and daycare centers.   Our council members come from the small communities within our county, so there is considerable overlap in memberships with other boards and civic groups.  This allows us to remain informed about the needs throughout our county and disseminate further awareness to these other groups about the need for community involvement in the support of young families and the prevention of child abuse.
